In the interest of getting people posting and showing my utmost gratitude to those who have been posting here to keep this little community alive, I'd like to introduce forum achievements!
What are forum achievements? I'm happy you asked. Forum achievements (or the 'Scrappies as I like to refer to them) are an awards system given to those who post, have good karma (more on that later), suggest games, etc. The more you post and the more erratic you act, the more badges you'll earn to proudly display in your profile. Here are some examples some of the more common 'Scrappies:
Gamescrap Contributor: For those who have used their blood to oil the machine that is Gamescrap. Awarded to users who have written an article for the site.
Frequent Poster: For those folks that keep the Gamescrap community going. Post regularly and you'll be thrown a bone. See how that works?

.
You're so cool, you should be called Culo: Everyone loves you, and you've got the karma to show it. Did you know about the Karma system? You can applaud and smite users to stroke their egos and let them know how much they're loved. You have the applaud/smite options under each user's avatar in the forums.
Constructive Criticism: Awarded to those who give creative suggestions to make Gamescrap a better place.

: You'll also be awarded bigger badges and better captions with increased wittiness depending on the number of posts you have.
These are just a few in addition to a bunch of hidden ones as well as those I haven't gotten around to making stupid images for. Check other user's profiles to see what fun can be had...or something to that effect

.
You can find your collected badges by viewing your profile, scrolling to the bottom, and clicking on
View member's badge album. I'll be looking into a better way for them to be displayed, like in the main profile page - but this should work for the time being.
Hopefully, an awards system will make this a more enjoyable community - enter mindless thanks as formality to those who have posted here since May.
As always, feel free to provide feedback!
